Toyota Corolla WRC | PURE SOUND | 2.0L World Rally Car
The 2.0L WRC era brought my favourite rally cars. Even today when there are more advanced and faster rally cars around, I still get goosebumps everytime I see a 2.0L World Rally Car especially when they are driven properly. That's why this is the start of a video series which will feature those iconic 2.0L World Rally Cars - starting today with the Toyota Corolla WRC.
The Toyota Corolla WRC produced memories I still have in my mind today. Be it seeing Franz Wittmann drive it at his last appearance in competition at Jännerrallye 2003 or the most iconic Corolla moment when Carlos Sainz lost the 1998 world championship just a few meters before the finish line.
All scenes in this video were shot by myself during the years 2012 until 2023 with most of the scenes shot at Rallylegend in San Marino.

The stage with the highest altitude, going up to almost 1400m above sea level. Spectators favourite and you clearly get why: this stage is easily accessible and also offers very spectacular spots to watch on the gravel parts. 14km and most of them downhill. This stage is really hard on the brakes, even for my Octavia at this normal pace. Spectators favourite: you see the cars twice on the whole circuit and when you stand at the top of the hill you see cars everywhere around you. Scenes in this video are from stages 2-6-11-13-16-18-20.
I can tell you that every stage is good to watch, the best thing to do is to avoid places where there are a lot of people because you are usualy far from cars and other people block the view. I went into the forest and found a nice and safe place to watch, it was a nice and very fast corner and i was relatively close to the cars. And you can be sure that every stage has a good place to watch if you are willing to search for it. But overall it's a really nice rally to watch in person.
